Project Description
When Iain first set up Skinner Holden he was approached by a professional couple who were considering the purchase of a set of modern agricultural buildings set in about 10 hectares of land. They planned to convert the buildings into a stunning residence. The property was being sold by a local agent and was set under the Sussex downs, in the South Downs National Park.
While the potential clients were impressed by his proposal and supporting documents they decided to ‘play it safe’ and go with a long-established company.
Some months later the potential client phoned again. The pre-application response (using the long-established company’s documents) was negative and they wanted a second opinion.
Iain’s review found the original information supplied for the pre-application consultation included design elements which contravened the tight parameters for a class Q submission.
With a redesign and detailed accompanying documentation, a successful Prior Notification was submitted for the conversion to residential.
